Our giant food box rolled along in Starlight Parade!

In our second Rose Festival Starlight Parade appearance, Sunshine Division made a bright, colorful splash this May 31!
A Portland Police cruiser driven by our own Officer Phil Kent—with board member and former commander Bud Lewis riding shotgun—pulled an enormous, glowing Sunshine Division emergency
food box. The float itself was constructed by volunteer John Doty, with assistance from other volunteers and Sunshine staffers. Ubertalented Cleveland High School art students created
giant food items. Volunteers from Advantis Credit Union—the generous and enthusiastic sponsor of our float—walked alongside, carrying food boxes. Sunshine staffers again donned food costumes.
It was lots of fun and an exciting night for everyone—and Sunshine Division got amazing exposure. Thank you to all who were involved!
